Happy Birthday Olivia!

Today is a great day.... It's Olivia's birthday, she turned eight, AND she was baptized!  How awesome is that?  I am grateful to have been asked by Olivia to give the talk on baptism.  Her other grandma gave the talk on the Holy Ghost.  It was a wonderful day.  One I hope she will always remember.
She looked so beautiful in her gorgeous white dress
The Whetstone Gang.  I think Emma was wondering what in the world Peyton was doing!  You can see the yummy cupcake parfaits Jessica made in the background.

I am so thankful that Olivia was given to our family.  She is such a beautiful little girl with a loving spirit.  I'm so proud of her decision to be baptized and make covenants with her Heavenly Father.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!  We love you so very much!

My Boys

I came across this newspaper clipping and I just had to post it.  Is this not the cutest picture you have ever seen?  This was in the Lexington Chronicle 22 years ago!  Holy Cow!!  Our family was at the Gilbert Peach Festival on July 4.  These two boys were adorable and they still are.  I love Kenny's cool shoes and shades and Joe's Ninja Turtles pants!  Too funny!  Good times!!!

Eight is Great!

Olivia has been waiting 8 years to get her ears pierced!  She was so excited to finally go today!  Jessica, Olivia and I headed to the mall and Kenny met us there.  She was a little nervous but VERY excited!!

Happy Birthday Hagin

Tuesday September 11 was Hagin's 9th birthday!  New Life Fitness World allows members to bring their family for open swim at their indoor pool on Friday nights.  Hagin wanted to do that for his birthday.  The fam invaded the pool with a gang of 17!!  It was loads of fun!

A little blurry but here is the gang!
Hagin got a game from the Carlisles for his new DSI

He got a - not sure what it's called - new toy from the Mayos.  Owen and Emma designed the wrapping paper!
Big Daddy and I got him a new bike.  Olivia's birthday is the 24th so we went ahead and gave her a new bike along with Hagin.  They rode them around the parking lot a few times to try them out!  Hagin is a real sweetheart!  I can hardly believe he is 9 already!

Happy Birthday Hagin!!  We love you so much!

White Lake International - September 8

Friday September 7 the fam headed to Elizabethtown, North Carolina for the White Lake International Triathlon.  Michael, Christi and Mary Beth were participating.  This was going to be Christi and Mary Beth's longest triathlon and they were just a little bit nervous!  No need....they were amazing, as usual!  When planning triathlons, I try really hard to make reservations for the family in a nice hotel with nice amenities.  We are so grateful for the fam being so supportive of Michael that we feel the least we can do is let them have a nice time.  We arrived in Elizabethtown to find the ONLY hotel in town was a little less than appealing.  Okay,  ALOT less than appealing!!!  It made the Motel 6 look like a 5 star hotel!  But it was less than 15 minutes to the race site and the sheets were really clean!  I felt really bad about the accommodations and was glad that we only had to stay one night.  We ate supper at Pizza Hut, got a good nights sleep then headed to the race at 6:15 Saturday morning.
All smiles before the race
Beautiful girls
What does Owen see out there with the binoculars?
Big Daddy getting ready to start
T1 - Heading out on the bike
White Lake was a nice little lake.  This was one of those races that once we were on site, we could not leave to travel around to different areas of the race.  So, while they were out on the bike for over an hour we let the kids play in the lake.  They liked that alot!!
Chicken fights!
The lake provided surf boards and kayaks for anyones use.  The kids loved it!  Good job, Peyton!
Michael came in first on the bike, (no pic) but here's Christi, my awesome little biker!

Mary Beth coming in - I think she's tired but happy!
Big Daddy coming in for the finish with the kids lined up for high fives
Christi heading for the finish line
Mary Beth getting some love from Jackson.  Look around at all the kids in yellow shirts!  Yep, that's Team Whetstone!
Hey, I think their smiles are bigger now that they are finished!  They are so fabulous!  They never cease to amaze me!  Michael has been such a great example to his girls.
Big Daddy wanted to have some fun in the water too
Big Daddy and Maizeigh
After the race, we went back to our luxurious motel, took showers, then headed to Myrtle Beach to see the Pirates Voyage.  It was loads of fun.
Tim and Kevin were chosen to participate in the show!  How fun was that!!
Look at that determined look on Kevins face!  Good times!

Whetstone kids!
Carlisles!
Mayos!
The whole gang!!  Thanks for a fun trication!

Divas and Diamonds

Last Saturday I went with Mary Beth to get Maizeigh's ears pierced.  Yes, she's only 4 but she thinks she's 24!
So excited!
Mary Beth thought it would be wise to have both ears done simultaneously.  Smart move!  REALLY smart move!!
Only a few tears.  Beautiful diamonds!  (or maybe dime-ones!)  I'm happy to report that Maizeigh takes very good care of her ears.  She puts medicine on them and showed me how she "twirls" them several times a day!  Maybe she really is 24!?!  Love you, Mz!

Prescott Glen Kids Triathlon

Saturday, August 25 a scout in the Lexington Ward organized a kids triathlon for his Eagle Project.  It was for children 6 - 11.  We had a great showing by Team Whetstone.  Kenny, Tim, Christi, Owen, Emma, Kevin, Mary Beth, Maizeigh, Norah, Zeva and I all were volunteers.  Peyton, Olivia and Jackson were triathletes!  I was assigned to the transition area so I didn't have the opportunity to take many pictures but here are a few I took from across the parking lot.  Christi took a bunch of pics so maybe she'll let me post some of hers.
Olivia and Jackson waiting for their age group to start
Olivia and Jackson still waiting!
Peyton waiting with Luke Nininger.  There's Brenda in the pic too!
Mary Beth and Norah ready to cheer
Peyton, Olivia and Jackson did an awesome job!  Way to go, gang!!
I get so excited to watch my family members participate in these kind of events.  I am so thankful that they choose to be healthy and seek after things that will keep them that way.  They are such a great example to me.  I keep hoping that if I hang around them long enough some of it will rub off on me!!
