South Carolina State Fair

Monday, October 15 Michael and I went to the fair.  Gee, it's funny....It's not near as exciting as it was when I was younger!  I don't eat much fried food any more so even the food wasn't near as good.  Although, we did share a corn dog, french fries, pork chop on a stick, chicken gyro, elephant ear, and lemonade!
Me and my honey
As soon as we walked in the gate we saw some of our family!  That was fun!
Peyton had a piece of his art work entered.  He won first place for his self portrait.
 Wow!  Awesome!
Like mother, like son!  Jessica entered a decorated cake.  She also won first place for her roasted pig!  Amazing!
Tim, Christi, Owen and Emma got to ride an elephant!  It was a fun night and I guess we'll just wait until next year to do it again!

Conference Weekend

I always look forward to General Conference weekend.  I love to be renewed by the words of the prophets.  This conference weekend was extra special because Joe, Chelsea and Maggie came to visit.
They were sweet enough to go with me to the "Walk for Life" to support the Palmetto Health breast cancer center.  We walked the 5K while pushing sweet Maggie.  She was a charm!
I had a great time!  Sorry if I walked you guys too hard!
After the walk we met Big Daddy at Waffle House for breakfast.
I don't think Joe and Chelsea liked me and Big Daddy introducing Maggie to candy but I KNOW Maggie liked it!
While Joe and Chelsea went to the USC vs Georgia football game, I got to babysit Maggie!  We went to Chick-Fil-A with Christi, Owen, Emma, Mary Beth, Jackson, Maizeigh and Norah
Then we went to Dunkin Doughnuts!  Yep, Maggie liked that too!!  I sure love this little girl.  I'm so glad that Maggie got to spend time with some of her cousins.  It was a great weekend!

Okra Strut 2012

Saturday, September 29 Maizeigh's dance studio, Southern Strut was in the Okra Strut parade in Irmo, SC.  This was especially exciting because over 20 years ago her momma was in the same parade with her dance studio, Sha-Mar!  I was out of town and didn't get to go but I made sure Mary Beth took pictures.
 Maizeigh's such a cutie patootie
The official "putting some color on" picture.  Maizeigh absolutely loves lipstick!!
This was me "putting some color on" Mary Beth's BFF oh, so long ago
Mary Beth and Christi - so cute!!
Mary Beth and Christi are on the back, right of the float.  Fun times!

Girlfriend Time

This past weekend I got to do one of my favorite things....Girlfriend Time!!  Pamelia, Brenda, Libbi and I went to Charleston for a little rest and relaxation with a little shopping thrown in!
We got down there and met Pamelia about 6pm Thursday evening so we headed to dinner at 82 Queen in downtown Charleston.  Yeah, awesome!!  Amazing place and food!
At the restaurant (with no flash on my camera!)
Our little house for the weekend at Wild Dunes, Isle of Palms
The house opened up onto a boardwalk that led to a hotel at one end and the beach at the other.  Really nice!
Since Peter and Ellen live close by, sweet Ellen and Walker met us at Tanger to shop for a while.  That is one cute little boy!!
Went for a walk by myself before the sun came up Saturday morning.  It was breathtaking!  The beach is the one place where I always feel peace.  It never ceases to calm my body and spirit.
Brenda, Libbi and Pamelia  -  They don't make friends any better than this!
We don't get to spend alot of time together throughout the year but we KNOW that we can always count on each other.  That is true friendship.
We ended up the weekend with pedicures and cupcakes at Butter Cupcakes in North Charleston.  Oh, yes, they were both delicious!!
I love you ladies!  Thanks for a great getaway!
