Girlfriend Weekend at Hilton Head

The Girlfriends had a fabulous weekend September 15 - 17! Pamelia had hip surgery 4 weeks ago and September is her birthday month so we wanted to go spend some time with our dear friend whom we miss very much! So glad she felt good enough to stay with us in Hilton Head.

We took turns pushing her in a wheel chair. She hated it but we didn't mind in the least. We were just so excited she could go!
We went to a little Mexican restaurant she loves and they sing a special song and make you wear a hat when it's your birthday. So.......oh, yeah, she was embarrassed!

We loved it!

Me and my peeps (Libbi was taking the photo)

These are some amazing women. I wouldn't trade them for all the tea in China!! Look out Myrtle Beach here we come in February!

(we missed you Lynn!!)

Hagin's Baptism

Our sweet Hagin turned 8 on Sunday, September 11. To make his day even more special he was baptised!! It was a great service and Hagin seemed so happy!

All 20 members of "Team Whetstone". What an awesome bunch of people! Joe, Chelsea and Maggie drove all the way from Virginia just for the baptism. Thanks y'all!

(uh oh, I think Owen's gotta go!!)

Patriots Half 2011

Thursday, September 8 we left Lexington heading to Williamsburg, Virginia for Michael to participate in the Patriots Half Ironman. We decided to treat the kids to a stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. Friday there was a blast! We practically had the whole place to ourselves! I held Norah alot so that Kevin and Mary Beth could play with Jackson and Maizeigh. That was my excuse anyway! I'm really not a water person. At one point in the day Hunter was bummed about something so to cheer him up I asked him to ride down one of the two-seater tube rides with me. Yep, I screamed all the way down! Thanks Hunter for a fun ride!

Just a view of this fun place
Kevin kept taking Peyton, Hagin and Olivia on the wildest ride there. The Howlin' Tornado! Nope, I did not ride this one.

Jackson crossing the moving logs. Owen tried but didn't like it at all!

Owen did like all the animals though

Waiting while Big Daddy and Kevin change a flat tire! Just one more memory!

Waiting for the race to start.

The swim was in the James River and the current is extremely strong. It was not wetsuit legal so that added an extra burden on Michael. We were so grateful to see him come out the water! He is so amazing! I am so proud of him and his dedication to training. I didn't get many pictures because I was too busy cheering! He had a great bike but the run was really hot.

Michael bringing it home!

Kenny and Hunter waited at about mile 12 to run the last mile in with him. Michael said that was a lifesaver! He was so hot and tired that it gave him the boost he needed to finish strong! Thanks boys!

Team Whetstone! (minus Christi-the photographer)

We missed Joe, Chelsea, Maggie, Tim and Emma but we had a great time. I am always impressed with the love and support that my children have for their family. We are so blessed to have such amazing children and grandchildren! We sure love to cheer Big Daddy on!

Breakfast with Jackson

This morning Big Daddy and I got a real treat. We got to go have breakfast with Jackson at his school for grandparents day! We picked him up and he rode in Big Daddy's car to school. We had cereal, sausage biscuits, fruit, juice and milk. Wow! What a breakfast.

Silly Jackson! Thanks for inviting us! It was fun!

Labor Day 2011

Monday, September 5 was Labor Day so we had one last "hurrah" at the lake. We had fun playing in the water and some awesome food. Thanks to Michael's wonderful grilling skills and Mary Beth's absolutely yummy Milky Way cake. Yes, I said Milky Way cake!!

Hunter, Christi and Emma in the canoe, with Kevin and Maizeigh on the jet ski in the background

Here they are again with Jackson, Hagin and Olivia swimming in front

Maizeigh just being Maizeigh!

Olivia Skiing! Awesome job!

Hagin skiiing being pulled by Tim. Way to go Hagin!!

I love it when the whole family just gets to hang out and have fun together. Thanks gang for making my day!

Go Gamecocks!

August 24 Michael took the big boys, Kenny and Kevin (Mike Nininger, too!) to the USC Fall Sports Preview Party. They partied in "the zone" at Williams-Brice enjoying good food and talks by the coaches.

Then on Saturday, September 3 Michael, Kenny, Tim and Kevin went to the season opening football game at the Carolina Panthers stadium in Charlotte. USC vs East Carolina. They tail-gated with the USC alumni and once again had plenty of good food and a fun night! Michael sure does love these boys and has a great time being with them. He only wished Joe could have been there. :(
