Easter Egg Hunt - What a fiasco!

Well, I really blew it this year! I try so hard to make things fun for my family. I don't know that they realize that or not! Anyway, I was so careful to fill every single egg with "something" so that it would be more enticing to "hunt". There were 247 eggs total! That was alot of filling! I put some cash in some of the eggs - quarters, $1 and a few $5's for the kids and larger stuff for the adults. You see, we do two separate hunts, one for the kids and one for the adults, who are really just big kids!! To make a long story short, the day was hectic and I accidentally switched the eggs. I guess the kids didn't mind finding lots of cash but the adults were a little surprised to find "change" in their eggs! Sorry family! Maybe I'm getting senile in my old age!
Maizeigh didn't care what was in her eggs but she really liked the ones that jiggled.

Sweet baby Owen didn't care either. He just liked picking them up!

Hagin got a basket full!

So did Olivia!

Sweet Babies!

Game Ball!!

Saturday Peyton got the game ball for playing so well. He has really been hitting well and has learned to field the ball and throw it just where it needs to go to stop a run. Great playing, Peyton!

Isn't he cute? Even without teeth!!

Doolittle Raiders

The surviving members of the Doolittle Raiders were here in Columbia Saturday and Michael could hardly wait to go see them. He (and so am I) is so impressed with their committment and bravery. They are in their late eighties and nineties but all say that if their country called them to another mission they would step up and go today. It makes me cry just thinking about what these men did for us. Please go on line and read all about the famous Doolittle Raiders. They stories are amazing! http://www.doolittletokyoraiders.com/

Run Forrest Run Video

When the Riverdogs win their game, they allow all the children to run the bases at the end of the game. Of course, Hunter, Peyton, Hagin and Olivia wanted to do this. I couldn't seem to find Peyton and Hagin while I was videoing but I did get Hunter and Olivia. Hunter is in the bright green t-shirt at the beginning and Olivia is in the pink and brown striped top towards the end of the video. I love the way her little arms are up pumping her along!!

RUN FORREST RUN 5K

This weekend we got some much needed R and R. Michael has been working 18 hour days for several weeks so we headed to Charleston late Thursday night and arrived there around 2 am Friday morning. We got some sleep then got up and Michael went for a 2 hour bike ride and I went for an hour run/walk. The weather was perfect (except for some wind!). We spent the rest of day goofing off and enjoyed some seafood for supper with Tim and Christi. Then Saturday morning we went to the Market downtown where we enjoyed a carriage tour and to the Run Forrest Run 5K in the afternoon. Kenny, Jessica, Hunter, Peyton, Hagin, Olivia, Tim, Christi, Kevin, Mary Beth, Jackson and Maizeigh all came down to enjoy the fun! This is such a fun race because afterwards you get a meal catered by Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and admission to the Riverdogs baseball game. The finish line is running down the first base line to homeplate where the players are lined up giving you "high fives"! Good times!!
Michael placed third in his age group. Go Big Daddy!!

Mary Beth had her second best PR and even beat Christi for the first time in her life! Go Mary Beth!

Hunter was a flash! Look at those long, skinny legs!

Hagin was just having fun!

Jackson had to have his finishing run too!

Sorry Kevin but I only got your backside! He did awesome! He pushed Jackson and Maizeigh the whole way. You go Kevin!

Christi said she was going to walk but she and Kenny ran together the whole way. Way to go you two!

Maizeigh had it tough, didn't she?!?!?

Jessica and Peyton ran together. I think maybe Jessica carried Peyton some of the way! What a good mom!

Michael receiving his award for third place. Notice his picture is being taken with Forrest Gump!!

Me and my babe!!

GENERAL CONFERENCE

This weekend was General Conference. How wonderful it is to listen to our beloved leaders. But it's very hard for little boys to sit still for two hours at a time. Jackson was so good! He sat and colored what the general authorities ties looked like!

Tim and Christi came over for the second session so Owen had to color too!
Owen just learned how to walk recently and decided he could climb the stairs all by himself! Go Owen!

Since the weather is getting warmer and Miss Maizeigh will be wearing sandals, she needed her toenails polished!

Those are the tiniest toenails I have ever seen ( or polished!)

Aren't they beautiful!

REMEMBER CARLA 5k

This morningI went to Lexington High School to support Mary Beth in her race, Remember Carla 5K. There was a kids race as well that Jackson ran in. Mary Beth's mother-in-law, Lauri, ran too. Michael ran but he had already run a million miles this morning before the race ever started so he just ran it as a cool down with Mary Beth. Lauri's daughter Megan ran with Jackson.
(The pictures aren't so great but the videos are even worse! I was holding Maizeigh while trying to use the camera. She enjoyed pulling on my arm during a shot!)
Jackson and Megan waiting for their start
Go, Jackson, Go!!

Lauri ran great. She's a very good runner!

Mary Beth was going to give Jackson a "high five"!
She is becoming quite the runner. It must be in her blood!

All the runners! Way to go guys!
