Halloween 2011

Monday afternoon Christi, Owen and Emma came over and I went trick or treating with them. We walked the neighborhood and had fun. The kids (including Christi!) didn't like the scary things people put in their yards. Owen and Emma were so sweet. They always said "Trick or treat" and thank you. Emma really liked it when someone had a dog! She would forget about the candy (for a minute) and want to pet the dog!

Of course, Maggie was not here for Halloween but I just had to include this absolutely adorable picture of her in her costume. Have you ever seen anything so sweet?!

Junior Gamecock Club Boo at the Zoo

Thursday October 27 we all went to the Junior Gamecock Club Halloween party. Previous years it has been at Frankie's Fun Park but this year it was changed to Boo at the Zoo. We still had hotdogs, baked beans, chips and cookies. The kids really liked being at the zoo. They got to see the animals, got lots of candy and treats, rode the carousel and climbed the rock wall. It was a great night!

Bragging Rights

Sunday October 16 was Lexington Ward's Children's Sacrament Meeting Program and Sunday October 23 was Gilbert Ward's Program. It was amazing to have eight grandchildren participating, four in Lexington and four in Gilbert. They all recited their parts perfectly and sang beautifully! I remember very well their parents participating in their own programs, about twenty to thirty years ago. I always look forward to this time of year just for this one Sacrament program. The spirit is always so strong and this year I was not disappointed! I am so very blessed to have such wonderful grandchildren being raised by wonderful parents!

The Sweater

This is SO awesome! Michael's mom loved to save things. She would save several special outfits of her children and then give them to them when they were adults. She saved this sweater that Michael was wearing in this 1967 photo. Kenny wore it. Joe wore it and I believe Christi even wore it a time or two! (It didn't have sparkles on it so Mary Beth wouldn't wear it!! Ha,ha!)

This is Michael (in the sweater) with his little brother, Ronnie sitting at the Citadel. Just waiting!

This is Hunter, 44 years later, wearing the same sweater, with his little brother, Hagin, sitting on the curb at the Lexington LDS church building. Traditions! I wonder if it will make it to Hunter's little boy in another 40 years!! Thanks Granny, I hope this made you smile in Heaven today!

South Carolina State Fair

Nothing like the South Carolina State Fair!! The corn dogs, elephant ears, Fiske french fries, fresh lemonade and mini doughnuts!! Saturday night, October 15, Mary Beth and Kevin treated me and Michael to the Styx concert at the grand stand! Wow, it was awesome. Thanks guys! I wish I had taken my phone so I could have had some pictures.

IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY, SHOUT HOORAY!

Monday, October 10 was Kevin's birthday! I really don't like calling him a son-in-law because I feel like he is truly one of my own!! He is an amazing husband for my daughter and father to my grandchildren.

Happy Birthday, Kev! I think you must have been hand-picked by Heavenly Father!! We love you!
