Girlfriends are the BEST!

I got an awesome treat today. Libbi called and asked if she could treat me to a pedicure. WOW! Do I have a fabulous friend or what?!?! Not only did we get pedicures but we got our eyebrows waxed too! Man, this is living!! I have no clue what I did to deserve such a great friend but I certainly am grateful for her. Thank you SO much! I love you, girlfriend!

Piano Recital

Tonight was the May piano recital for Mary Beth's students. The all played classical music and are very talented. They are the sweetest girls! She absolutely ADORES teaching them.

What lovely ladies!

Hurray for Joe!

What an exciting weekend! It was just too fast! We headed out about 11:30 Friday and arrived in Buena Vista about 5pm. Changed clothes and went to Salerno's, a great Italian restaurant, for dinner. We had an awesome meal and great company. Joe's graduation was at 10am on Saturday morning, outside on the lawn of the campus. The weather was cooperative and only dizzled a little. It was quite pleasant, not too hot. I am so proud of Joe and all his hard work to get to this point. Now keep your fingers crossed that a good job offer will come soon!!

We stopped at the DQ on the way up. Owen didn't get an ice cream of his own, he had to share a smoothie with his mom.
Jackson got an ice cream all by his self and I think he liked it! Got milk?

Salerno's was great!

Such Good food!

Chelsea even went in the kitchen to help dip the ice cream.

Joe walking in the procession. Pomp and Circumstance always makes me cry!

Me and my gang

The kids liked the "Knight" statue. The graduating class had put a gown on the knight and a diploma in the horses mouth.

My beautiful children!

It's Strawberry Time!

Our family just loves it when the strawberries get ripe and ready to pick. We have a strawberry farm right down the road from the office. How convenient!! Since we were heading to Virginia Friday at lunch time, we decided to go Friday morning and pick a few gallons to take to Joe and Chelsea and to Chelsea's parents, Jill and Craig. We wanted to make sure they were good and fresh for them!

I think Michael was intent on his picking!

Owen sure had fun!

Maizeigh wasn't quite sure if she liked them or not.

Take a close up of Jackson's lips and you can see that HE really liked them---a lot!

Owen thought they were yummy, too!

Easter Egg Hunt - What a fiasco!

Well, I really blew it this year! I try so hard to make things fun for my family. I don't know that they realize that or not! Anyway, I was so careful to fill every single egg with "something" so that it would be more enticing to "hunt". There were 247 eggs total! That was alot of filling! I put some cash in some of the eggs - quarters, $1 and a few $5's for the kids and larger stuff for the adults. You see, we do two separate hunts, one for the kids and one for the adults, who are really just big kids!! To make a long story short, the day was hectic and I accidentally switched the eggs. I guess the kids didn't mind finding lots of cash but the adults were a little surprised to find "change" in their eggs! Sorry family! Maybe I'm getting senile in my old age!
Maizeigh didn't care what was in her eggs but she really liked the ones that jiggled.

Sweet baby Owen didn't care either. He just liked picking them up!

Hagin got a basket full!

So did Olivia!

Sweet Babies!

Game Ball!!

Saturday Peyton got the game ball for playing so well. He has really been hitting well and has learned to field the ball and throw it just where it needs to go to stop a run. Great playing, Peyton!

Isn't he cute? Even without teeth!!

Doolittle Raiders

The surviving members of the Doolittle Raiders were here in Columbia Saturday and Michael could hardly wait to go see them. He (and so am I) is so impressed with their committment and bravery. They are in their late eighties and nineties but all say that if their country called them to another mission they would step up and go today. It makes me cry just thinking about what these men did for us. Please go on line and read all about the famous Doolittle Raiders. They stories are amazing! http://www.doolittletokyoraiders.com/
